2 YEAR FIXED TERM
The Academic Tutor role is a brand-new position within the Psychology Department. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about student wellbeing and keen to lead the student support provisions across our psychology programmes.
You will provide emotional support to our undergraduate and postgraduate students, ensure administration regarding continuation and retention are accurate, as well as help them to navigate our support network and services.
We welcome applications from individuals who are motivated and genuinely passionate about providing high quality support and guidance to our students to enable them to succeed within their academic studies.
The role might be of particular interest to people who have experience providing guidance and/or support on a range of difficulties that students may face, In addition, it might be of interest to recent psychology graduates or graduates from an equivalent field as it can offer an excellent steppingstone for for those who are keen to work within the field of psychology or social support roles.
The post-holder will be responsible for meeting the day to day needs of students who experience a range of difficulties including welfare and wellbeing issues. The interactions may be individual face to face or remote and may also include small group sessions where appropriate. You will also work closely with colleagues across the Psychology department, as well as the central Student Services at the university to ensure support as well as administrative aspects relating to students are accurate and up-to-date.
