Our plastics reprocessing facility in Avonmouth, Bristol will reprocess over 80,000 tonnes of plastic every year – more than 1.6 billion bottles, tubs, and trays – creating recycled raw material to return to the economy. Plastic recycling at the facility will save 126,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, the equivalent of taking over 67,000 cars off the road
We have permanent opportunities for General Operatives (Mobile Plant / Manufacturing Operatives) to join our newly formed day team, working an average of 38.5 hours per week, on a 4 on 4 off days only rota. The salary for this role will be circa £26,000 per year, plus participation in a yearly bonus scheme, where you could earn up to 10% of your base salary.
About the role
As our General Operative, you will experience real variety and the opportunity to be involved in different areas of the Polymers Plant. Duties will include:
Driving a counterbalance forklift truck – this is preferable to have previous experience in this, however for the right candidates, full training will be given.
Receiving, offloading and stacking plastic bales.
Receiving and loading Silo Tankers
Loading bales into plant machinery
Loading finished goods onto vehicles.
Working inside the Material Recycling Facility (MRF) and loading finished goods into bags and booking
Moving and emptying bins from the MRF
Using computer systems to dispatch loads
Carrying out cleaning, basic maintenance tasks and basic fault finding
