Job description
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
We are looking for a collaborative procurement leader who will be part of delivering the North Somerset vision for being Open, Fair and Green.
We are seeking an individual who has ambition to deliver fantastic enabling services and value for money for crucial local services. In return we offer an excellent benefits package including the potential for relocation. This is an interesting role working across disciplines within the council and within the wider West of England region. The ability to communicate, engage and develop relationships will be crucial.
Our new Head of Procurement will work at a strategic level, reporting to the Director of Corporate Services within North Somerset Council. Once embedded, the role will develop and implement a joint procurement service with Bath and North East Somerset Council.
This is an exciting time to join North Somerset Council; as well as leading the Councils’ procurement functions, we want you to bring a transformation focus, developing joint capability and approach to achieve positive service outcomes. You will play an integral part in developing options for re-procurement of our support services contract leading up to 2025 and our significant programme of local infrastructure.
We encourage flexibility. This role is a “mobile worker” under our hybrid working policy; whilst you can work remotely, you will sometimes work from physical locations within the region.
This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
