Come and join Wheatley Care!
We’re passionate about personalised care services which support people to get the most out of their lives.
Our dedicated and highly experienced staff provide flexible, innovative and high-quality care and support co-produced and focused around the individual and their personal goals.
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented leader to join our team in North Lanarkshire as we embark on the next stage of our journey to delivering truly outstanding, highly personalised care and support services.
Our specialist Housing Support and Care at Home services provide support to adults aged 18 and over who are living in their own homes. They have a range of diagnoses, including mental health struggles and/or learning disabilities. Some may also experience addiction and have a history of offending behaviour.
The team leader who successfully takes up this post will be involved in supporting other teams, managers and leaders as our services develop and grow.
If you have the motivation, drive, focus and want to use your leadership skills to make a positive difference to people’s lives, this could be exactly the opportunity you’re looking for.
As part of Wheatley Group, we offer an unrivalled package in the sector. The successful candidate will receive excellent benefits including 7.6 weeks’ annual leave (pro rata), essential car user allowance, staff discount scheme, an occupational pension, generous health plan and family friendly policies.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have solid experience of working with people in the care and support sector and, just as importantly, they’ll be able to demonstrate an innovative and empathetic approach to delivering services.
They will understand person-centred care and be just as passionate about it as we are.
Experience of leadership is important as you will play a lead role in supporting the manager of the service to support and develop the staff team. As part of the leadership team, you will be fully involved in the delivery of excellent, personalised services.
You should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of monitoring and evaluating a quality framework, ensuring excellent service provision, staff support and supervision.
What will the role involve day-to-day?
As the team leader of a Wheatley Care service, you will work closely with the registered manager of the service to share responsibility for the day-to-day running of all elements of service provision.
This will include:
leading and supporting staff;
ensuring the work of all staff is co-ordinated effectively;
participating directly in the care of the people we work for and the implementation of support plans, policies and procedures; and
maintaining regulatory standards.
You will need to have some flexibility to work various shift patterns and you will be asked to participate in the organisation’s on-call service, for which an appropriate allowance is paid.
What about qualifications and development?
At Wheatley Care we support staff to develop their career and reach their potential through a range of learning and development opportunities.
You should have, or be willing to work towards, a SSSC recognised qualification for this role, such as SVQ3 Health and Social Care and a relevant supervisory management qualification.
We will support you to achieve any relevant qualifications you will require in your post within an agreed timescale. Your commitment to gaining the necessary qualifications would be essential.
You will require to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and register with the Scottish Social Care Council (SSSC), but we can also support you with these applications
At Wheatley, we are always looking to improve diversity within our teams. We want to create an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute their best work and achieve their full potential.
We actively celebrate our individual differences and recognise the collective strength this brings our organisation. It’s important our teams represent the communities we serve, and we would welcome applications from any under-represented groups.
We want all our candidates to shine. If you need any reasonable adjustments to help you feel more comfortable during the recruitment process, please contact Rachel Young on 07867291367 or email@example.com.
