Can you help reduce homelessness?

You’ll take a proactive and innovative approach towards prevention homelessness in Sevenoaks as it is one of our key focuses. Working across the whole Housing service, you’ll assist primarily with rough sleepers with a variety of projects and initiatives which means you’ll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills further.

You’ll be providing advice, guidance and support to our customers as well as assessing homeless applications, making referrals and creating Personalised Housing Plans. You’ll also work to support landlords and tenants in the district through the Council’s Private Sector Lettings scheme.

If you have a background in housing, then you’ll know that communication and a detailed knowledge of the Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 is essential. You’ll also be able to remain calm and work effectively under pressure and maintain a high level of accuracy.

Please note this is a fixed-term contract position for 12 months.

This post is subject to a DBS Check and may require Out of Hours cover as part of a Rota.

This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles where your working time will be divided between the office (2-3 days) and home working (2-3 days).
