About the role
As the I Bike Officer for East Lothian, you will offer support to selected schools and community groups across the area to enable pupils and their families to walk, wheel, cycle and scoot to school more regularly.
You will engage with schools and communities across East Lothian, developing and delivering activities and events in schools that promote and enable all forms of active travel to school. This will include practical skills incentive programmes and classroom sessions.
I Bike East Lothian has been running since 2019 and supports the work of a number of local teams including the Active and Sustainable Travel team. If successful, you will be part of a local working group of all interested partners. This working group aims to ensure that I Bike complements and strengthens existing initiatives within the area.
About you
You should have experience of working with children of primary or early secondary school age (9-14) and experience in leading group workshops and event planning.
You should be able to easily adapt your communication style to ensure engagement with both partners and pupils.
Ideally, you will have experience in delivering physical activity lessons and have an understanding of community-based or environmental projects.
