What you’ll do

As an Income Officer at Optivo you’ll deliver a pro-active, high quality, high performing, value for money service for Optivo residents. You’ll achieve stretching targets, balanced with a strong customer focus.

You’ll be based at the Kent Science Park, Sittingbourne, Kent. You’ll provide expert advice and support to customers over the phone on rent arrears and household budgeting. You’ll develop and maintain strong links with local authorities, Department of Work & Pensions and support agencies.

You’ll liaise as necessary with other departments internally and externally, to ensure the best interests of the business and the customer are served.

    This part-time position is offered on a fixed term contract until 31.12.23, working 27 hours per week. We’re available for customers from 08.00 – 17.30 (Mon –Fri) and will need you to be able to work flexibly within these hours. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, customer and colleague focussed organisation following our merger with Southern Housing Group.

    What you’ll need

    Experience of income collection or money advice is preferred. You’ll be well organised with brilliant people skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.

    You’ll also need:

    • Strong communication & negotiation skills
    • Experience of working with money advice agencies
    • Confidence to use own initiative
    • The ambition to deliver great results
    • An understanding of welfare benefit reform
    • The ability to work well under pressure.
