Our Project Support Officers enable the effective delivery of our client projects, through quality project support. Assigned to one of our divisions you’ll be working on our unique projects across the UK, Europe and worldwide.

About the role

The Project Support Officer will be responsible for providing high quality project support and coordination by working closely with project managers on a range of projects. This is a very hands-on role involving project administration and liaison, project oversight and reporting.

The successful applicant will provide vital assistance to our project managers. They will help to ensure the successful delivery of our projects to cost, time and quality targets, in line with best practice. This may be through hands-on support such as building project plans in our ERP system, providing oversight reporting to flag risks and issues or required actions, or by coordinating actions and progress updates across the project team.

Please note, this is a hybrid-working role based in our Buckfastleigh office and requires 2/3 days in the office.

About you

You will have experience in an administrative or support role, working either directly on projects or within a PMO environment. Experience of working within a professional services organisation is advantageous.

You will be highly organised, self-motivated and able to manage your time effectively to deliver to deadlines. You will be confident in dealing with queries from all areas of the business and prioritise conflicting demands on your time calmly and professionally.You will have keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret and analyse data and information – good Excel skills are key for this role.

Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, with the ability to produce useful and informative documents to tight deadlines.Every project is different, so you must be comfortable working in new and uncertain environments, be flexible, adaptable to changing requirements, and ready to get stuck in!

Ideal candidates will also have an interest in improvement work and finding solutions to challenges.

Required skills:
Providing high-quality hands-on project support to our project managers, including supporting project builds, updating project plans, instructing invoices and coordinating updates and responses.

Supporting the completion of project specific documentation, including but not limited to project scopes, project plans, project status updates and RAID logs.

Producing, understanding and distributing project reports (e.g. status, exception, oversight) to relevant stakeholders, ensuring key messages, issues and actions are highlighted and followed up on.

Ensuring all project related systems, records and databases are accurate and kept up to date.

An environmental background is not essential, but an interest in ecology and environmental issues would be welcome.
