Overview
Do you have a passion for working with babies? Do you want to help raise awareness of the support Demelza can offer families within neonatal wards?
We are looking for an individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to support the development of our In-Reach service, currently linking into one neonatal unit in Kent. We plan to extend our reach into other hospitals, supporting even more families at this challenging time. Working as part of the Family Support Department and using our new neonatal pathway, you will be responsible for a small caseload of eligible families providing social, emotional, practical and advocacy support
You will:
- be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills
- have extensive experience of supporting families with a baby who has a serious and terminal condition
- be motivated and innovative, with excellent organisational skills
- be confident in managing a busy workload and prioritising a changing workload
Problem-solving skills are essential to the role, being able to demonstrate a tactful approach in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.
As well as ensuring the allocation of work across the team, providing cover and support, you will be able to build strong links and working relationships with a wide range of clinical staff. Effective engagement of staff to raise awareness and dispel myths of the specialist care and support available, is key. As the service grows, you will also provide supervision and line management to your team as it expands to meet the growing demand for Family Support Services. This is an excellent opportunity for professional development and you will be given support and training as needed.
Demelza offers a large range of benefits and rewards. Head to our Benefits, Rewards and Wellbeing page, found under the Work with Us section on our website.
We may close the vacancy early when we have reached a maximum number of applications. You are advised to submit your application in full as early as possible as we will interview promptly. This may differ from the advertised interview date.
