Actual Salary from: £28,000 – £43,685 (M1 – U3)

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Colne Community School and College for a Subject Leader for RE to join our Humanities Faculty.
Our school is a community in which we believe everyone, students and staff alike, should have the opportunity to be nourished and grow. Therefore, we are seeking to recruit a proactive and forward thinking member of staff to enrich the skills and experience already present in our Humanities Department. We aim to foster an inclusive culture where everyone is able to learn from each other. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and diligent.
The Colne Community School and College is a member of the Sigma Trust. We work closely with other schools within the Trust to improve standards and ensure that we are creating the best environment for our students to learn and our staff to develop.
Our school community is expanding which makes this a particularly unique and exciting time to join our team. We have a brand new teaching block consisting of 8 new classrooms and 4 specialist Design and Technology rooms which are fully equipped, including a metal workshop, two wood/plastics mixed workshops, CAD room and two kitchens using both gas and electric ovens and hobs. A further large scale internal refurbishment will be taking place over the 2022/23 academic year which will further improve our school environment for all.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Be accountable for student progress and development within the department;
Be innovative in your own teaching and to develop and enhance the teaching practice of others;
Take a lead in planning collaboratively with colleagues in order to promote effective practice;
Be accountable for leading, managing and developing subjects within the department.
