We have a fantastic opportunity for a part time Temporary Support Worker covering maternity leave (25 hours per week till end of January 2024) to join our Service based in Thornaby. You will be working in our registered service supporting six people both in the home and out in the community.

Supporting six people in a team of 14 Support workers. You must be willing to work flexibly across a variety of shift patterns including mornings, afternoons, sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays. Shifts in the Service include, Waking Nights, Sleep overs, Day shifts are 3pm – 10pm 8am – 4.30pm 7am – 3pm. Experience within the care sector is an advantage but not a necessity as full training will be provided.

    What does a Support Worker do?

    As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.

    Personal care – helping people to get ready for the day and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.

    Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.

    Excellent communication skills/relationship building – supporting the person to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.

    Community & Social Inclusion- Supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and Social events to promote life skills and individuality.
