This permanent apprenticeship is available to start in early 2023. You will be employed by the University of Exeter in the Temporary Resourcing Unit which is part of the Permanent Recruitment and Temporary Resourcing Team, in Human Resources, at our Streatham campus in Exeter, and will be enrolled on the Business and Administration Apprenticeship with Exeter College.

Through your apprenticeship, you will gain knowledge, practical experience, and develop the skills you need to do this job and to succeed in your career.     The Temporary Resourcing Unit (TRU) are responsible for the onboarding and payroll of all casual and temporary workers across the University. The Temporary Resourcing Assistant Administrator acts as a point of contact for customers and colleagues to advise on, support with, and administer the casual claims process. This includes tasks specifically associated with the systems that we use, and providing essential information to recruiting managers to ensure a smooth recruitment process. In this role you will also cover the HR reception desk once a week.

    In this role you will gain a working knowledge of the onboarding process for casual workers at the University. You will be responsible for undertaking right to work checking, which will develop an understanding of Home Office regulations. You will also be a point of contact for general queries regarding our processes, University policy, and UKVI and HMRC regulations. You will be fully trained in the use of internal systems including our payroll/HR and recruitment system, and our timesheet system. In this role you will be fully supported by an experienced and knowledgeable team.

    This is a hybrid role, based both at home and at our office in Northcote House. We meet in the office as a team once a week, but you are welcome to work from the office as often as you like.

    In this role you gain experience that would support a move into Human Resources, Recruitment, other roles within Higher Education, business administration and beyond.

    Our early career apprenticeships are aimed at (but not limited to) enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated school/college leavers aged 16 years and above.

    Our ideal candidate will have

    At least GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 or above.

    A willingness to learn, and put into practice, new knowledge, skills and behaviours.

    A desire to develop both personally and professionally.

    A positive, can-do, attitude.

    Good interpersonal and communication skills.

    This apprenticeship may be at the same level as, or at a lower level than, a qualification you already hold. It should allow you to acquire substantive new skills and the content must be materially different from any prior qualification or a previous apprenticeship.
