Job summary
The Vehicle Mechanic/Inspector (VM) will work within Commando Helicopter Force Workshops based on Lttle Yeovilton site of RNAS Yeovilton, supporting the CSS Squadron.
The individual must hold a minimum of Cat C Licence.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and inspection of a wide variety of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) and maintaining the vehicle records once tasks are completed. The individual must be computer literate for updating a computer based Asset Management System.
They must have an understanding of Engineering standards and be required to maintain the highest of engineering practices .
Person specification
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing mandatory inspections of HGV and other vehicles as dictated by the computer based system (JAMES), complete running repairs as directed to ensure maximum availability of vehicle platforms within the organisation.
They will adhere to all Health & Safety regulations in place, will be supplied with personal protective equipment where necessary and comply with Risk/COSHH assessments in place.
Knowledge of conducting a HGV Vehicle Test.
Should be able to use a computer based system such as (EXCEL, WORD).
Candidate must hold a minimum of CAT C LICENCE- Licence must be brought t o interview.
